HIPAA Security Auditor

We have most automated, simple and affordable HIPAA Security Risk Analysis software solutions in the industry.  Much more than an accelerated survey and gap assessment, this process reliably incorporates the mock-audit, gap-assessment and risk-analysis mirroring our industry-proven HIPAA Security software solution called HIPAA One®.

We are looking for a HIPAA Security Consultant to oversee all aspects of conducting a HIPAA Security Risk Analysis for HIPAA One and monitor ongoing risk management efforts for our clients and partners.  HIPAA One offers a professional, fun and intense working environment with large potential for individual growth within the company.  The ideal candidate will have expert-knowledge and direct experience working with the HIPAA Security Rule.  Experience can include Health Information Management, Medical Records Department experience, maintaining Policies and Procedures, handling PHI disclosure incidents, understanding of Accounting of Disclosure requirements relative to health care, health insurance, health information exchanges and business associates under the HIPAA Security Rule.

There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to branch-out and carve a career for themselves within our rapidly-growing company.  HIPAA Security experience and/or Health Information Technology is preferred, but not a must.  candidate should be open to learning HIPAA Security using our HIPAA One® automation software.

The role is based at our corporate office at 387 S 520 W Suite #115 Lindon, UT 84042.

While some experience in the field is desirable, a good cultural fit, a great work ethic and getting a buzz from working in an exciting, high pressured environment are a must!

POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES

The HIPAA Security Auditor implements and supports information security initiatives for Modern Compliance Solutions’ and our clients. His/her goals and responsibilities include:

  • Conducts HIPAA Privacy, Security Risk and Breach Notification Analysis using our industry-leading HIPAA One software solution.
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates onsite/remote client activities and may be required to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Works on the Audit Support Team (AST) with clients in all levels of group practices, Hospitals, Covered Entities and Business Associates.
  • Is directly involved with feature input, testing and ongoing support of existing assessments and the HIPAA One software.
  • Takes direction from the President  (CEO) and works closely with our clients’ to educate, evaluate, assess, remediate the HIPAA/HITECH security, privacy and breach notification requirements.
  • Investigates and recommends secure solutions that implement information security policy and standards.
  • Will be required to maintain a relevant security certification e.g. CISA, RHIT, CHPS, CISSP, CHISPP, CHC, etc.
  • Oversees implements and monitors the security requirements levied by Federal and State Rules and Regulations.
  • Has a basic foundtion of IT for the purposes of recognizing supporting documentation (e.g. Firewall VPN connections, Active Directory user list and policy, patch management, virus/malware management) in addition to understaning how to audit compliance and drive risk management within an organization.
  • Assist clients with identifying gaps within existing security programs and designing solutions to address those challenges
  • Support clients with the identification, development and implementation of technological and organizational controls to support the security program
  • Advise clients in trends relating to HIPAA security requirements and work collaboratively with them to enhance capabilities
  • Contribute to HIPAA One’s thought leadership in client organizations and external market place
  • Operate as a subject matter specialist
  • Be up to date on industry trends around HIPAA/HITECH, OCR enforcement, HHS guidelines and state-specific consumer-protection rules relative to medical information
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Demonstrating strong domain expertise and thought leadership to clients in the data security and privcay space
  • Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Willingness to travel
